    Windows 2012 R2, IIS 8.5, ASP.NET 4.5.1, SQL Server 2012?

    Is aspnetMX included? Available, Cost?

    Cost?
    One Time Fee: = $0.00
1 Web site with SQL Server? $20/month
2.SL Certificate $49.00 per year? Or if we accept the non ip-based SSL then zero?

We would upgrade from DASP, nausetnewcomers.org.

We are running on the latest Microsoft web stack - so windows 2012 R2, IIS 8.5, ASP.NEt 4.5.1 and SQL 2012.(We are working on making SQL 2014 available)

No components installed in the GAC. We want to make sure that the cluster of webservers we have in the cloud infrastructure is as light as possible and fast and streamlined to maintain. Components can be bin deployed. If there is a particular one that you want to use, you can find out the costs from the vendor that makes the component. We will be reaching out to component vendors to see how we can partner but this is a future endeavor.

A single website and sql database can be supported with our Cloud Websites plan which is $20/mo on an annual billing cycle. We include SNI SSL support with this plan but you will need to purchase an SSL cert. We sell the RapidSSL cert for $29/yr.

The SNI SSL is a new thing that allows SSL behind shared IPs, so we include it with the plan. If you need IP-Based SSL, it is available but as an add-on for $15/mo.

Email system is the same SmarterMail system we offer at DiscountASP.NET. The experience will be similar.

  3. Thanks for the prompt reply.

Ok, if we use the SNI SSL support the new cost seems to be 289 per year including the annual purchase of the SSL Certificate.
AspnetMX, which we currently use to verify eMail addresses on entry would have to be:
    • Key provided by EverLeap in the machine.config like is done on DASP
    • or we would have to purchase a license:
      http://www.advancedintellect.com/purchase.aspx#aspnetmx

This cost is best offset by Everleap in the same way that DASP does as it would be too expensive for us.

I do not understand any problem other that the absorbing of the expense as the only job that Everleap would have is to include the key in the machine.config.
      http://www.advancedintellect.com/page/licen.aspx See the Administrators & ISP's paragraph.

Is there any chance you will be doing this?
    • OR we will have to find a new solution to email address checking.
I assume we can still send eMail from the website in the same way and volumes that we have in the past on DASP?

For now our plan is to forgo installing any components. We'll have to see how that shakes out in the long term.

    That shouldn't change.

  5. aspnetmx does not use an object, only a license key

We do not intend to install components in the GAC. We have not talked to AdvancedIntellect about Everleap yet. The partnership we worked out with them for DiscountASP.NET is unique to DiscountASP.NET. We will be approaching component vendors about how we may be able partner. But this will be part of a future conversation and I can't say how it will play out.

  7. As far as I know, nothing is installed by the ISP in the GAC, only a key for the product in the machine.config (see links above).

The client then installs the dll in their bin directory.

This should have no effect on each server.

DO you know of any alternatives in asp.net to validate specific email addresses?

You are right - It is possible to use a license key and bin deploy the component. However, we have not talked to AdancedIntellect regarding Everleap yet. From my experience, component vendors do not want hosting providers to freely give out license keys as it could undermine their own business. Cloud hosting is a new model so we will need to discuss details on how a partnership could work with each component vendor.

  9. Please do as we cannot use your service without it or a replacement capability to verify a users eMail address at the time it is entered. Doing so has enabled us to have a clean mailing list.
