It'd be nice if we could have a little more sophisticated user permissions for FTP accounts. For example, giving accounts read-only access, or only access to a specific path. These are fairly common features on hosting providers.
FTP on Windows Azure Pack does not rely on NTFS permissions so we can't do what you are asking. We'll bring this up with Microsoft on our next call.
Oh wow, yeah that's unfortunate, since it is pretty common to want to give someone permission to view but not edit. How about access beginning at a different base path? I would think it'd have to support that.
