Hello, In the chrome developer console I'm seeing this warning when visiting my site: The SSL certificate used to load resources from https://www.stellatrainer.com will be distrusted in M70. Once distrusted, users will be prevented from loading these resources. See https://g.co/chrome/symantecpkicerts for more information. Visiting the link, I learned that M70 is scheduled for release in late October of this year. It appears that SSL Certificates from Symantec and its affiliated brands will not work in Chrome after that time. Symantec's affiliated brands include VeriSign and Thawte, as well as the GeoTrust and RapidSSL certs sold through Everleap. Can anyone from Everleap weigh in if I am correct on this? And make a suggestion about where to buy SSL Certificates when renewal time comes? Thanks, Randy Craven
I'll have to review the links you posted but we did do a blog post on Symantec SSL certs - check out - https://blog.everleap.com/whats-happening-with-symantec-ssl-certificates/
Thanks Takeshi, the blog post was very helpful. The Google article did mention the sale of Symantec's business to DigiCert, but to me wasn't clear if the certs from Symantec would work after the new Chrome version is released. I'm sure Michael is correct in the blog post, that we don't have a problem as long as we renew our certificates before the deadline.
